Prior to founding the supply firm, KJ&E Holdings, Marco Moran established successful companies in the beverage and apparel branding sectors. Marco Moran is also an alumnus of Louisiana State University and is a lifetime member of the Alpha Phi Alpha (APA) fraternity.
First established at Cornell University in 1906, APA is the oldest Greek-system fraternity for African American college students. APA is open to members of all backgrounds and runs several special initiatives. In the 1980s, APA launched the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) with the aim to cultivate and train a new generation of leaders within the African American community.
The program focuses high school students and educates them on important political and social topics. Participants are also encouraged to practice civic engagement. Fraternity members can implement an LDI chapter in their area by following the program’s curriculum. LDI also hosts conventions throughout the year that bring together APA members, alumni, and youth participants.
